Corumba Lost off Seal Rocks
Pictured Cowes jetty the day the steamer Coramba disappeared with 16 crew on November 30th 1934.
The Coramba left Warrnabool fully loaded the day before. A terrific gale raged for days and it appears the ship was overwhelmed by the huge seas off Seal Rocks with the crew having no time to escape.
The alarm wasn't raised until the body of one of the crew members washed up near Forest Caves several days later.
